Christmas Day 10: Hot Chocolate Holder

Today brings a 3-D project-a hot cocoa holder. I used this one as table favor gifts for fellow demonstrators for a recent virtual training opportunity that we had. 3-D items were something that I used to be afraid of but have come to determine that the only hard part is figuring out the original dimensions-sometimes through trial and error. It helps if you follow the old construction adage: measure twice, cut once. Usually I get the cutting right but sometimes mess up the scoring. Either way, it is just paper and you can grab another piece and start over so don't let 3-D project scare you.

Come see how it is made by joining me at 7:00 CST for my weekly Tune-In Tuesday, though this will likely be a pre-taped video as I have a team meeting that night to talk about the spring mini catalog that goes live for demonstrators, just one perk of being a demonstrator.

You notice the post is titled Hot Chocolate holder but I also call it a Hot Cocoa holder. Which one do you call it? Whichever you choose, these were purchased in a bulk size box at Sam's Club if anyone is interested. Your dimensions would potentially need to change it you use ones that are different size/shape than these (these are 6" x 3 1/8" and about an 1/8" thick).

Base: 4 1/4" x 11" Score the long side at 1/2" & 3 3/4", short side at 5 1/4" & 5 3/4"

Bands:    8 1/2" long by 2 1/4", 1 1/2" and 3/4" Score at 2", 2 5/8", 5 7/8" & 6 1/2"
